RIDE WITH FRIENDS

RETREAT W/ SALA CYCLING COLLECTIVE

17.-2o. September 2026 In D’kammer // Allgäu

A long late summer weekend of cycling, Movement, good food & even better people

There is a particular kind of happiness that comes from riding your bike for hours.
The first kilometres, when the day is still opening up in front of you.
Roads rolling through the green hills of the Allgäu.

A lake appearing between the trees. A spontaneous swim. An gelato or coffee + cake somewhere along the way. The kind of day where the route matters, but so does everything that happens along it.

And where you keep riding a little further because there is still so much to see.

And then, eventually, coming back. The light is still warm. Delicous shared food on a long table to fuel the body. You have spent the whole day outside, moved through a landscape, followed the road wherever it went.

Your body feels alive. Your head is quiet. And dinner tastes very good.

This is RIDE WITH FRIENDS.

Four days in the Allgäu, at the very end of summer. A small group of people who love riding bikes. Long days outside. Good roads. Strong legs. Beautiful landscapes. Movement, breath and time to recover. Slow food, coffee, cake and a place to stay & enjoy a little longer.

A weekend built around the simple pleasure of riding & being together.

ON THE BIKE

The Allgäu in September.
The light is softer. The mornings are cooler. The days are still long enough to spend most of them outside.

On Thursday, we arrive and get on our bikes for a shorter ride — enough to move the legs, see some of the landscape and get to know the people we will be sharing the next few days with.

Friday and Saturday are the bigger days.

Longer rides between 70 and 150 kilometres, led by the SALA CYCLING COLLECTIVE.

The routes will take us through the landscapes of the Allgäu: along quiet roads, through villages and open countryside, up and down the kind of roads that make you glad you brought your bike.

There will be climbs. There will be descents. Lakes, hills, small roads and places worth stopping for. The exact routes will depend on the weather, the conditions and the group - no one is left behind.

But the intention is simple:

to ride with fun, ride well and ride together.

off the bike

A body that has spent hours on a bike deserves a little attention. Every day, Anja will guide movement sessions designed to support the demands of cycling.

Movement that helps you come back into your body after a long time in one position.

We will work with mobility, breath and the myofascial tissues that have been doing the work all day.

Hips that have been flexed for hours.
A spine that has stayed in one position.
Shoulders and hands that have carried more than you noticed.

The sessions are an opportunity to move in a different way. To create space. To breathe. To feel, how you actually feel. And to give your body what it needs to get back on the bike the next day.

You do not need to have any experience with yoga or be flexible. Just simply the intention of doing good to yourself.

the good parts in between

The ride is at the centre of the weekend. But it is not the only reason to come. There is the first coffee of the morning. The food that tastes even better after a long day outside. Coffee and cake in the afternoon. A sauna & dip into the cold river just nearby as the light starts to fade.A shared family-like dinner around a table.
The conversation that starts somewhere between a discussion about the route and what everyone does when they are not riding. The small, ordinary things that make a few days away with friends feel like a proper break from normal life.

THE Place to stay

For four days, d’Kammer will be home.

A beautiful old farmhouse owned by wonderful Julia & her family in the Allgäu, with its restored farm house, a newer building with a purist yet cozy design, shared spaces, a sauna and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay a little while longer.

About us

- SALA Cycling Collective

SALA is a cycling collective founded by four friends who found a sense of home and family in riding together.

Since moving to Nuremberg, cycling has become one of the ways they explore the world around them — and beyond. The rides, the roads, the mountains, the coffee stops, the conversations and the people they have met along the way have gradually grown into something bigger than just a group of friends who ride bikes.

For SALA, cycling is about the places a bike can take you, but also about everything that happens along the way.

For RIDE WITH FRIENDS, they will bring that spirit to the Allgäu — leading the rides, finding the good roads and sharing a few days of riding with a new group of people who, at least for this weekend, are all going in the same direction.

- Anja MArinkovic

Anja is a sports scientist, movement & psychotherapist and yoga teacher.

Her work brings together sports science, yoga, breathwork and body-based practices with a particular interest in how movement can support us not only physically, but also in the way we feel, regulate and connect with ourselves on a psychologically.

For RIDE WITH FRIENDS, she will guide the daily movement sessions around the rides.

Expect mobility, breathwork and myofascial movement designed to support the body after long hours on the bike - helping you move in different ways, create some space and feel ready for the next day outside.

No yoga experience necessary.

Who is this for?

For people who love riding bikes. For those who know the particular happiness of spending a whole day outside.
For those who like the feeling of strong legs, an open road and nowhere else they need to be.
For those who like a good climb, a long descent and the feeling of having really been somewhere by the time they sit down for dinner.
For those who want to ride further, explore new roads and spend a few days outside.

For those who like the idea of meeting people through the simple act of doing something together. You do not have to know anyone before you arrive. You do not have to be the fastest person in the group.

You do need to be in good general health, comfortable with bike handling & group riding and have the desire to spend a few days riding together.

The rest is what we are here for.

SEPTEMBER 17–20, 2026

The end of summer.

A few days before the seasons change.

A good time to ride.

Come for the roads.

Stay for the people.

Leave with a full stomach, a clear head and the feeling that you should probably do this more often.

RIDE WITH FRIENDS.
